How deep do you grind?+
Typically 4–8 inches below grade, deeper if you're planning to sod or pave. We grind out the root flare too, not just the visible stump.
Will the tree grow back?+
No. Grinding below grade and removing the root flare kills the stump's ability to regenerate. Any surface suckers on nearby roots are handled at the same time.
Do I need to remove the grindings?+
Your choice. Grindings make great backfill and settle over a few months. If you want a clean hole to sod or plant into, we haul them away.
Can you grind stumps close to my house or septic?+
Yes, with care. Joe personally sits the machine when we're near utilities, foundations, or septic lines and uses smaller equipment where needed.
Can you grind a stump you didn't remove?+
Absolutely. Whether we cut the tree last week or another company did five years ago, we can come out and grind it.
